Susie Harrison MCSP HT MCSP HT ATACP Accredited Tutor

I have worked in the NHS for 27 years and have 22 years of experience providing aquatic therapy to children with a wide range of conditions as part of my role as Clinical Lead for Aquatic Therapy (Hydrotherapy), at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

I completed my post-graduate qualification in hydrotherapy, (The Bath Hydrotherapy Course), in 1997 and have always had a passion for water based physiotherapy and I wrote the section, “Hydrotherapy Management” in the text-book “Management of Brain Injured Children”.

I have recently been responsible for overseeing the complete pool rebuild on the new Alder hey hospital site and setting policy for the running and use of the Aquatic Physiotherapy facility.

I have been providing aquatic therapy training to physiotherapists and other organisations since 2005 and became an accredited tutor in 2014 and commenced national teaching on a variety of courses including the ATACP Accredited Foundation Course.

I am on the committee of the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (ATACP), taking over as Secretary in 2016 and am also part of the Education subgroup and responsible for liaison with NICE.
